When things get frustrating and blurry, when you need clarity and to feel purpose, just remember…
YOU.ARE.LOVED.
We often need reminded of these three words.
On the outside you may be putting on a show, trying hard to say the right things, do the right things and look the right way. You might feel as though you’re constantly swimming against the current or just can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. Maybe you feel like everything in your world is getting complicated and is not making any sense. You might feel left of center, off course, or unworthy. In these moments, hold your head up and remember…
YOU.ARE.LOVED.
*I love the Scripture passages this blogger www.beagoodthing.com chose to highlight so here’s my take on each passage — all in the name of His love for us.*
John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.” Eternal life. Even if things seem tough, keep your sights set on eternity. God loves you so much and wants you with him in eternity. He died for us so that we might obtain eternal life.
Isaiah 53:5 – “But he was pierced for our offenses, crushed for our sins, Upon him was the chastisement that makes us whole, by his stripes we were healed.” Crushed for our sins…OUR sins. My sinfulness and your sinfulness – He was crushed, pierced and mocked because of it. He has already paid the price so we would be made whole. What more could one do to prove their love for another? Nothing more. He loves us that much.
1 Peter 5:7 – “Cast all your worries upon him because he cares for you.” Cast your worries upon him. Lay your burdens down at the cross. He bears those burdens for us. 1 Peter 5:10 “The God of all grace who called you to his eternal glory through Christ [Jesus] will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you after you have suffered a little.” Persevere. Be bold and persevere and you shall be restored.
Ephesians 2:4-5 – “But God, who is rich in mercy, because of the great love he had for us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, brought us to life with Christ (by grace you have been saved)…” God is rich in mercy and love, indeed. It is his mercy which that transforms us and his love that pours over us, engulfing us.
Romans 5:8 – “But God proves his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.” Think of your greatest sin. Although you and I are both sinners, while we were in the act of committing our greatest sin, Christ still poured out his blood in love for us. He loves us so much he died for our sins in order to save us.
1 John 4:8 – “Whoever is without love does not know God, for God is love.” When you feel you are not loved, when you feel alone and perhaps even unworthy, it is you that is resisting and has pulled away. Know God. Draw closer into intimate relationship with God. The closer we get the more we are capable of loving and being loved. God is love.
Psalm 103:4-5 – “Delivers your life from the pit, surrounds you with love and compassion, Fills your days with good things; your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” In the depths of despair, He is there. He surrounds you, He beckons you, He desires you, He delivers you. Through Him you are renewed.
Romans 5:5 – “…and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the holy Spirit that has been given to us.” Never lose hope. God sends His holy Spirit to be with us, to move through us. He pours His love into us.
Psalm 103:13 – “As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on the faithful.” The Lord is kind and merciful. Be faithful, do good, know God.
