Sometimes in life you feel like you are just sitting in wreckage. All around you is brokenness, difficulty, and frustration after frustration. Everything seems to be going wrong and you feel like throwing in the towel. You’re in the wreckage and you’re in the wreckage in a bad way. There seems to be no way out, no clear path, no sign of a brighter day ahead. We all have moments like these. Sometimes the wreckage lasts for years, sometimes for days, and sometimes only for a few minutes, but it happens to all of us to different degrees. No one is exempt from sifting through the wreckage of our own lives.
But that is ok.
The wreckage of our lives shapes us. Not only does it shape us, but it changes the fabric of who we are.
You have to work through the wreckage to find the richness.
Imagine your life without the wreckage of your past. Would you be who you are without it? Would your heart be in the same disposition had it never had to work through the wreckage? The richness of our lives is produced by the wreckage. Although being in the midst of the wreckage is never enjoyable or easy, it is necessary.
When it comes down to it, I’d rather experience the weight of the wreckage on the road to richness than never experience the richness at all.
Next time you are mucking through the trenches of the wreckage remind yourself of the richness building within you.
